SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS

These are the school rules and regulations of Peace Trinity Academy, Benin City. The regulations are meant to develop and foster self-discipline and good behavior in the student of the school and to ensure and maintain an excellent learning environment in line with Peace Trinity Academy management core values which are stated below.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATION

  • Gross misconduct, discourtesy or disrespect in words or deed to any member of the management, teaching and non-teaching.
  • Dishonesty, stealing or an attempt thereof or cheating during examination.
  • Hazing, commission of any act of immorality, display or distribution of pornography materials.
  • Hooliganism, gambling and extortion of any form.
  • Vandalism or destruction of school properties.
  • Threatening or intimidating another (verbal and/or physical), fagging and bullying.
  • Forging, falsification of or tampering with official records or document of any kind.
  • Fighting within the school and during off school activities.
  • Membership of cults and secret societies.

  • Use of wrong type of earrings.
  • Use of incorrect/dirty uniforms.
  • Sport wear and foot wear.
  • Lateness to any school activities including assembly.
  • Cutting classes / lessons / club meetings.
  • Improper dressing / use of makeup of any kind.
  • Use of telephones in school premises.
  • Late submission of assignment / avoidance of school work.
Loitering around the school premises.

. Students violating the rules spelt out in the manual shall be subject to disciplinary sanctions. Disciplinary measure shall be commensurate with the nature and gravity of the offense. The principal has the right to impose a heavier punishment on erring student.Disciplinary infractions are categorized into minor and major offenses.

. Every pupil/student enrolled at Peace Trinity Academy is in school to get education and to be developed intellectually, culturally, morally and socially. Students are answerable to the school authorities for their conduct both within and outside of the school. Hence misbehavior in the street and in public conveyance attracts disciplinary actions. In order to form proper habits and attitudes, the following rules for good conduct are to be adhere to by every pupil/student.
  • Respect for all school properties and school uniform.
  • Courtesy and respect for all members of staff.
  • Respect for school prefects and other students.
  • No chewing of gum in the classroom or on school ground.
  • Pupils and students are to be punctual for all lessons and activities. These include assemblies, lessons, club religious and sporting activities.
  • Weapons, firearms, explosives, pornographic materials, alcoholic drinks and prohibited drugs are not allowed inside the school.
  • Students shall refrain from making any marks/writings, carvings or the like on the desks, wall toilet or any part of the building in the school. Any act which will cause damage to the school properties shall be considered an act of vandalism and will be subject to disciplinary actions. The cost of damaged school property will have to be borne by the student concerned.
  • Observance of cleanliness and neatness of school facilities such as; the classrooms, laboratory, corridors and restrooms and proper use of school equipment are required at all times for a conductive educational atmosphere. Students should avoid loitering the school premises and use the bins provided for the purpose.
  • Examination malpractice at whatever level is strictly prohibited.
  • Every student should keep away from places of ill repute and should refrain from joining in activities destructive to his/her character and the schools’ while on school uniform.

. Make-up in any form is prohibited including the use of lipsticks and coloured lip-gloss of any kind.

  • Absence for School
  • The school office should be notified by the parents before 10:00am if a student is to be absent that day
  • No student should leave the school during school hour unless accompanied by a parent/guardian who must report to the school office.
  • Morning Assembly
  • Pupils and students are to be punctual for all lessons and activities. These include assemblies, lessons, club religious and sporting activities.
  • Weapons, firearms, explosives, pornographic materials, alcoholic drinks and prohibited drugs are not allowed inside the school.

  • Pupils and students must arrive before morning assembly (The school gate opens each day by 6:00am and is locked by 8:15am to any pupil and student that comes late)
  • Any pupil/student that comes to school after 8:15am is expected to go back home or else will not be allowed into the school premises.
  • No pupil/student is expected to be seen loitering around the school gate after the morning assembly, except when the school closes.
  • On no account should any parent/guardian force or compel the security men/the gateman to open the gate when his/her children are late to school.
  • Pupils and students are to be punctual for all lessons and activities. These include assemblies, lessons, club religious and sporting activities.
  • No child is allowed to buy anything outside the school after he/she has entered the school premises.

. All pupils/students must resume on the specified date

  • Information from the school is disseminated by the use of notice board by the school gate. It could also be done on the assembly ground from time to time or by news print when the need arises.
  • Information should not be by hear say but could also be gotten from the school class teachers, the administrative staff or school management.
  • The management expects feedback on its school operation by talking to the school management directly.
  • Parents/guardians are expected to make any observation to the management directly or with the of the suggestion box by the school security office.
  • Ignorance is not an excuse and the school will not be responsible for any inaccurate or false information being worked with by parents/guardian or students.

  • The KGs closes at __________, primary closes at __________ and the secondary closes at _________. However, every pupil/student is expected to partake in the school lessons.
  • Any class teacher of management will not release any pupil to an unknown person, unless the person is duly recognized by the teacher or management on that regard.
  • Any parent of guardian that does not pick up his/her ward 20 minutes after the designated time will pay a fine option of two hundred naira (N200).

  • Students must inform their classroom or subject teacher of any missing item.
  • When an item is found, it should be giving to the classroom or subject teacher o find the owner and return it

. Nails must be kept short at all times for both boys and girls. Painting of nails in any form are not allowed.

. The hair must be neat at all times:
  • All male pupils/students are expected to have low hair cut
  • All female pupils/students are to plait their in accordance to the style of the week announced by the head teacher; except otherwise a female pupil or student decides to keep an appreciable low haircut.
  • Hair accessories, attachment or weave on are not allowed to be seen on the hair of any female pupil or student except as directed by the school when there is a ceremony.

  • shoes:
  • School shoes: This must be of black polishable leather. A pair of covered black sandals
  • Sport shoes: This must be white trainers or canvas.
  • Stocking: White Stockings for school period and also during sporting activities.
  • Jewelry
  • Earrings: The only jewelry item allowed is pair of pin earrings per girl. Multiple piercing of the ear is not allowed. Body tattoos are not allowed. Boys are strictly forbidden from using earrings of any kind.
  • Wrist band: Bangles/wrist bands of any kind or colour are not allowed.

  • Dress Code
  • Wearing the specified Peace Trinity Academy uniform is a sign of identification with the school. By wearing a uniform, student show pride in their school and exhibit respect for by dressing in a dignified manner. The uniform reduces competition in dress as a result of styles.
  • School Uniform
    • Only the full school uniform is allowed during school hours. Students should not be in school uniform after school hours. Pupils and students are expected to dress-up in corrected and neat school uniform.
    • School customized T-shirt is to be worn every Wednesdays on a plain blue jean trouser. No rugged trouser will be allowed.
    • Sportswear must be worn during sport time on Friday for all pupils and students.
    • Inter-house sports wears are worn every last Friday of every month by students. Failure by any pupils or students to be in sport outfit. As above will deny him/her the right to physical and health exercise/aerobics.
    • Any pupil/ student that combines his/her sport wears with the school uniform as an outfit will not be allowed into the school premises.
    • Al pupils/students must put on their school tie to complement their uniform and black belt for male students.
